Collagraphy is a printing process where the plate surface is built up using a variety of materials. I have used primarily paper and gesso/gels. I then add Akua soy oil inks painted with a brush and run it through the press.
These prints are never the same even though they may be printed from the same plate. Plates are
never cleaned so they accumulate layers of subtle color. The plates are fragile to the pressure
of the press and are altered with each run. Prints made by this process are subtly textured and very painterly.
The Collagraph prints with Marginalia are prints adhered to a larger sheet with small drawings, linoprints or other notations added.
